Report: Lake Del Valle 4-20. 1 Dink trout!

Took my friend to Lake Del Valle and we fished from about 10am to 1pm. I was hoping to get him his first trout catch ever! We took one of the rental boats - no Kayak action today - and hit 4 spots - swallow bay (the big point that juts out at badger cove's mouth), badger cove, a cove within heron bay, and then a point on heron bay. I was trying to focus on the shallow flats that I believe trout feed in. It was super windy, so we had a tough time anchoring anywhere and casting!

The set up we used was 1 rod with a suburban trout spoon (tequila sunrise color) and another with the white power egg. Also threw around a gold kastmaster for a bit. We ultimately got 1 dink trout on the poweregg at heron bay! My friend was super stoked and I let him keep it.

Despite not the best fishing day we had a blast. Let me know if yall have any other tips on how to fish Del Valle better.

I used to drift fish in front of the boat launch down through the beach then repeat. Used to work great once you find the right line where the fish are.
