I am planning on starting at CRSB at about 6 maybe earlier.  If it is too rough to launch there I will go to Monastery then Coral then MBK.  I will monitor ch 69 come by and say hi.  I will remember my camera and post some photos this time.

Sackyak, do you realize that was your 666th post?!  Heh! Congrads, but hope it doesn't cost you any luck tomorrow!

I think I would like to join you out there, but also thinking I cant make it that far that early, and do have to be back at a decent time.  Still considering floating around Santa Cruz though, not sure what I would be trying for =)

Still wondering, can you purchase live chovies or shiners in the south bay?  Or is it usually just grass shrimp places offer?

Good luck. I am going to build some WAF this weekend. Will be coming to Carmel next weekend if the conditions are better.

Just keep your guys updated. I drove and checked the coast line from HMB to SC and stopped by a few beaches such as Pascadero, BH, Davenport and others. Except sunny, Today's conditions were not good - very windy and decent swells. Whitecaps were everywhere. If yesterday was ok, today is a different day. As I indicated, early season's condition is little predictible.

I'll did make it out to SC yesterday, and the conditions were AWESOME from 7AM to 12 when I gave up.  As I was leaving I took a drive along the beaches and the board walk and started to see some white caps forming.  But the early hours were just plain perfect!

How was fishing at SC yesterday. You had a few hours on the water. I did not launch when seeing whitecaps.

Did a report in the Reports forum, but basically I caught a lot of smelt, couple small rockies, and no halibuts like I was trying for. But I had a good time.  It was also my first time on the blue without someone else.  Also only my third time fishing the ocean with a yack, so I didn't expect too much, just good experience and a fun time.

Cheers!
