My speed estimate may be way off.. whatever cruising speed is with a revo with turbo fins is what it is.  I just try to cover ground until I find fish and then concentrate on that area.  FYI I generally troll artificials or drift live bait- find what works for you and refine it.

I use an Ugly Stik Tiger Med/heavy. Do you think it will be ok or should I get something else?

Sorry for the late reply, been way too busy..

Caught a nice one (30") on ugly stick tiger lite (heavy action) in fairly shallow water. Picture was on the gali tournament thread. My fishfinder/gps was down but i think I was doing about 1 mph at the time. Pretty slow compared to the rest of the day trolling.

Im far from the most experienced, but use what you have. It'll teach you what you do/don't like so that you know what you want to buy when its time for an upgrade. Worst case scenario you lose a fish because you had the wrong gear.

Are you guys using flashers ahead of your bait or just running the bait off a three way swivel directly?
