Has anyone fished off the beach north or Pigeon Point?  Would like to know if it is a good, relatively safe kayaking/fishing place.

Thanks!

I have fished BH - PP and in between. What is your kayaking experienced in the salt?

Fished there for years now.
it can be good fishing in the right conditions.
it is not relatively safe for kayaking :smt002

you'll see a lot of shark references in your searches, plus capsizes, surf injuries, and general mayhem associated with fishing this area.

As soon as the weather and my schedule align I'm there. This weekend looks too rough.

:smt005 I wondered if you'd pick up on that Darius!
I didn't fish there once last year, strange as that is.
I'll most likely show up there mid June or so once we get some flat water. Seems like the early season days always disappoint me at Bean.
This thread reminds me I need to maintenance  charge my SS.

Same here, I usually fish it around June. Its gonna be tough depends on how salmon bite in the coming days.

Dude.  Welcome to the club!

had to laugh at the questions

Would like to know if it is a good, relatively safe kayaking/fishing place.

Good?  Unbelievably good often.  Just regular good the rest of the time
Safe?  Just regular safe some of the time.

You really gotta read all previous posts esp bout the Bean.  You can always go with Darius, he doesn't seem too excitable.  First time he kayak fished, I had to wake him up repeatedly.  "Dude, you gotta wear your PFD, and you gotta stay awake!!"

PPoint used to be the best kept secret around, I fished and dove it from 72 until they put a fence up, was about to take cutters over and chop myself an entrance when they gentrified it with the stairway and reopened it

Look off to the south and you can see Ano Nuevo which is a big magnet for GWs

I had a drive over by something big while I was diving it and not long after a guy was ripped in half at the same spot Maybe the only fatality on the local coast

Reliable spot for rockies and abs though I imagine it’s not legal to take them there anymore

I used to practically live there

Gets a little creepy now and then but I’d say the same for bean or any other spot along there

Is it still legal to get abs on the sm coast?
