Can’t take my 12' 6” perch rod appart ! Anybody ever have this problem with two piece rods?
Any safe way to separate without crushing the graphit or twisting off the guides while trying to separate ?
Stuck at the joining ferrule.

If it’s cork and it swelled, get it cold. It will shrink and you can get them back apart. Then grease them so it doesn’t happen again.

Get someone to help. One guy twist and pull from the handle. The other guy wear rubber gloves and pull from the top half near the ferrule.

Try using your knees to pull it apart...
Put the rod behind you legs.  Squat slightly and grab each half of the rod with the ferrule in the center at knee level.  Slide arms in until they touch your legs at knee.  Hold tight and spread your knees apart.  This should help separate it.

I heard surrounding the ferrule with a bag of ice can help. The graphite will shrink with the cold. Supposedly moisture in the ferrule when they are put together can cause them to get stuck. Hope you get it apart. Good luck!

I bet a hacksaw would work!  :smt044.
Two rubber strips, wrapped in opposite directions at least 4-5 times around each half , one in a vice the other in vice grips... both close to the joint.... use the vice grips to slowly turn and pull.

I tried that and cracked it near the hosel . I called the company and told them about the crack and that it seemed like a defect. Sent it to them and they replaced it.  :smt075  .  Why I continue buying their products.

This works. I have used this technique to desperate 9ft flyrods that were stuck at the ferrel. You will have to apply alot of pressure.
Goodluck
