11.5 is not good. probably means one of your cells is shot. Charger seems to be working fine however.

Any specific model? It will be the best if I can still use the hobie battery kit holder.
Hi James

Both 12v 7ah & 10ah will fit on Hobie battery holder, but definitely go w/ 10ah.
I’ve been using for almost 5yrs and never had any issues.
They will last much longer than Lead Acid.

Does that mean the battery is done?

I will go with the bigger one. Does it come with the sealed wires? Or that is something I need to do it my self?

Can I still use the hobie battery charger on this? Or do I need to order a new one?

Yeah. Take it to a recycler, they fetch $1 each up here.

no you will want a charger made for lithium batteries.  I think you would likely need to wire yourself but it is really easy. I am sure some local NCKA could help you once you get your battery.

edit: you're not really that far from me. I could help you with it if you want some help.  It really would only take maybe 15 minutes.

It's done. Check out this voltage chart.  Note this chart only works for lead acid batteries. Lithium tend to maintain the same voltage despite remaining capacity.

I bought a lithium bioenno battery so I have an extra 12ah lead acid battery if you want it.  Used only a few times.  It's really heavy.  :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

Got it. I will buy both the battery and charger. Any chance you know a local shop that carries them? I would like to have it before the weekend.

I might take up on you on wiring. Thanks so much!

Thanks, buddy! Another friend send me something similar this morning. I guess this battery is officially RIP. $60+ for barely 100 usages.  :smt010 :smt010

I will go for a lithium now, but thanks for the offer.

I recommend this one: https://www.amazon.com/YakAttack-Nocqua-Pro-Power-10Ah/dp/B07PJVTM9X/ref=asc_df_B07PJVTM9X/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=241986712736&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5769785357327616485&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031975&hvtargid=pla-669673721748&psc=1
Its super light weight, waterproof, made for yaks, and in general, pretty badass.

Thanks for the recommendation. That looks a lot smaller than what I have now. Should I get this or Dakota??
I’m gonna do shameless plug here too...

7ah & 10ah are the same size & same size as your old SLA. Fits right onto your Hobie battery Carrier.
You just connect it like you connected to your old SLA.

I think Adventure Kayak City in Sacramento carry some now if you need them for this weekend (another shameless plug;).
