Hi Tiki,

I took Sea Kayaking 1&2 there early last year, and can highly recommend them for the class you want to take.

I took the Kayak Fishing Safety class with my wife and a couple other folks on the board a few years back and it was well worth the time spent.

Also took a SIK rolling class from them which was also good.

Thanks for the replies.

Looks like they have quite a few interesting classes. I’m going to this one Saturday.

This is where I took one many years ago and they also had a 10 percent NCKA discount  :thumright:

If you are not in a hurry pick a windy day.  The surf launch and re entry is more challenging and closer to real conditions.  Its a good time to practice bracing which you cant mimic in calm conditions.  They provide everything but its up to you if want to bring your own gear.

Hi Tiki,

Check out River and Ocean, they offer surf zone classes. I took two one at HMB, and one at Bolinas. I wrote reports last year if you want to search my posts. Excellent instructors, the woman who taught the HMB class was quite impressive the way she could go through the waves without being flipped. The first class is mostly learning about recovery.

A windy day might be better for my second class :smt044
I intended to use my kayak for classes, but think it may be easier to use one provided.

Thanks Mark, I’ll research your posts. I’d like to go to HMB. I’m in Fremont, so it’d be close.

These are great classes to take for any new angler.
I think surf launching and self rescue are "must have" skills if you intend of fish the big blue. Well...if you intend in kayak fishing in general.

Thanks for sharing.--tla
