If you are talking about the Pinecrest Lake East of Sonora, I've been going there since I was about 5 years old (42 now).  It is HEAVILY stocked in the summer.  Last year they stocked some 4lb + rainbows.  I have caught a lot of fish on eggs/powerbait at the inlet.  I have also had good luck trolling an orange Apex from the kayak.  The marina posts all the stats as far as how many fish stocked and what they're biting.  It's a great place to camp with a small general store and a decently stocked little tackle shop.

Gold crushed triple teaser is the hot lure.  Tie a 3 foot leader to a swivel.  above the main line use a large split shot or sliding sinker to get your lure down to cold water which in early summer is 6 to 12 feet and then later run deeper.  Troy, when you launch, stay to the right side of the launch and start trolling parallel with the shore and the swimming areas just past the boat docks.  Continue on this side of the lake maybe a 100 to 150 feet from shore all the way to the back of the lake where the river washes in.  THis is my main hunting area for trout here.  I lived by this lake for 4 years and hence the reason I will never touch my lips with trout ever again.  I can limit out with that lure in about 1 hour.  Its a killer.  WHen you goin????
