Anyone a fan of explosions?

The BLEVE looks like a high-tech version of a "Bacon Bomb."  For you explosive fans, here's how you make a Bacon Bomb while camping:  Make some bacon, and pour the fat into a can. Melt the bacon fat by putting the can of fat on the coals of a campfire.  Attach a can or a cup to a stick.  A lo-o-o-ng stick.  Fill the can or cup with water.  Staying low to the ground and way back, pour a little water into the melted bacon fat.  KERBLOOEY!  The addition of the water will cause fat to spray out of the can, creating an aerosol of fat particles which get ignited by the campfire and explode into a mushroom cloud of fire.  Repeat until the bacon grease has been incinerated.  The pictures shown below were taken on a Middle Fork of the Flathead River raft and kayak trip in the Great Bear Wilderness in Montana, after flying in to the Shaffer Meadows wilderness airstrip.

Some jackass started a fire at my kids soccer practice launching one of those a few years back.

We had a slightly uninteligent fellow show up at a 4th of July party, unbeknownst to every one he filled a garbage with acetylene and attached a burning object... a little while later he was escorted by ambulance to the hospital. It blew when it was five or six feet above his head.

I have seen too many aftermath scenes.

A BLEVE is one of the scariest fires a Fire Fighter can go to, they are unpredictable in real life.  If a rail car goes to bleve it can Daisey chain and set off multiple cars. Still to this days in some parts of the world you will here of a bleve and it taking several hundred responders with it (I believe Iran had one a few years back that did just that).
