On the off chance that I get the go-ahead to camp the night before for the DOTY awards (skeptical about leaving my wife with a newborn), anyone willing to share some hook and line gear? I have a ultra light super short ugly stick with a small spool for river fishing, but that's it (probably not the best kayak fishing set up? Or is it? My kayak is exclusively used for diving but I did install some flush mount and 1 adjustable pole holder. The only gear I have is a few spinners for rivers and maybe a thing of power bait. I'd love to try top water fishing from it on the lake. If it's a hassle, no worries at all, just thought I'd ask.

Keeneroo, I'll have all you need +++ rummage threw and borrow what you want. Bait caster or spinning set up  preferred?
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Wow! That's awesome!

I am familiar with both set ups, but I don't know what's better for yak fishing at this lake so I'll take whatever you recommend.

The water is still cold and will be then too. A spinning rod with light baits like drop shot or similar will be best.

What is the weather typically like up there in the day/night? Warm? Hot? Just curious how to pack.

The weather is not consistent.  Last time I didn’t even bother to set up the tent and slept in the truck because it was cold, windy and rained.  Other years it has been sunny, warm, and calm.  Best to look at the weather report before you come.

I'd be stoked if someone has a small corner of their campsite they'd like to share with me. I have a small tent/can sleep in my SUV. I can share cost of site too $$
