and from a game standpoint its better to have a low point fish today and hope for a bigger fish tomorrow than to have no fish at all, whilst praying for that bigger fish... just saying :)

True, but I'd honestly rather have a closed mouth fish rather than 1" deduction or have a fish in the gray area. A 13.5 crappie isn't that hard to find. Either way, I'll post a replacement soon.. just to be surprised if it has staples hold it's mouth shut.
