Heading up to Fort Bragg this weekend for our annual ab/salmon trip.  Thinking optimistically and bringing my yak this year.

If the gale settles down up there, I'm hoping to get out on the kayak for salmon or rockfish.  Thinking Caspar or Noyo.

Looking for both advice and company.  Mendo crew??

I'm totally Jonezin' to get out too.  Be careful, guys.  I think the bad news is obvious:  it will be very very windy.  But the good news, we hope, is that early mornings should provide at least a brief window for some fun before the tornado starts, the minus tides are epic, and, take a look at the 5AM Saturday view below:  it shows that there will actually be flatter water than NWS is forecasting off of Pt. Arena (light blue is good!).

Good luck and have fun.

I went ab diving on Friday morning and it was great. Early morning seems to be the way to go to avoid the wind that has been picking up for the rest of the day.

I haven't heard much about salmon in Noyo harbor yet but I'm keeping my eyes open whenever I cross the bridge to see if the boats are out in force around the buoys.
