I may be interested also and I’ve never been kayak sturgeon fish. Tell me what I need and I’ll try to make it  :smt006
Besides the anchor, bait, decent reel, stout pole with a light tip, sturgeon leader. Maybe most importantly something to keep you awake while waiting for some action.  :smt044

The ocean forecast looks pretty rough this weekend and the sturgeon bite looks good. Everywhere I looked in the sturgeon zone had 2-3 mph wind forecast. Can we get a hookup?  :smt007 :smt006
Where about are you considering?

San Pablo Bay, Sherman Island and Montezuma Slough. I'm open to wherever the hot bite is. I figure there must be a bunch of guys ready to fish the good weather and hot bite.
I went to Montezuma 2 weeks ago with no success. IÂ’m open to any location as long as I can get my pig of a yak in the water. [emoji23]. Where do you launch in SPB?

I've only launched in SPB once, at McNears Beach. I don't know the conditions for minus tides,  but it was decent the day I was there.
Where to gentlemen? 🤣

Saturday is looking like the better weather. I know very little about the San Pablo area other than it's a good spot. If we can get some fresh detailed Intel that could help pick a spot.

Saturday would be my preference. I’ve never been to SPB. It also seems like that’s where most folks are having success.

It’s looking like the wind is going to be a problem in San Pablo Bay. With all that wide open water it doesn’t take much to build up a nasty chop. One forecast shows winds to 15mph the other shows gusts to 15mph. I’m thinking the red barn is the better choice. Launching around 7:00 and ride the incoming tide upstream in time to fish the last couple hours of the tide. Then fish as much of the outgoing tide as I can manage. Company welcome.

I can make it if it's Saturday but not Sunday. Launching at the red barn you say? Is there an address?

Yes, Saturday. Launching at Beldens Landing on Montezuma Slough and fishing at the red barn. The red barn is a local fishing landmark. I’m not sure there is even still a barn there. It’s about a mile and a half upstream from the launch. $6 to launch a kayak unless you park outside the gate.

I'll be in my yellow Tarpon. My radio battery has been questionable so I may not have a working radio.

Was thinking of hitting up mothball but the wind is slightly picking up. May join you at Montezuma tomorrow.
