Well, the news gets worse.  I went to see Scott on Monday eve. and the decision was made to unplug him from life support. THATS WHAT I WOULD WANT TOO.   Its hard hear and seeing plans being made for a funeral that is for a guy who is still alive?  Scott IS, WAS and ALWAYS will be a cantankerous SOB, and  truly good guy.  He was going to removed from life support today, and I have yet to hear the final word.

Very sorry to hear the news.
I'm also a rider and a father, and recently my wife forced me to work out a will and also declare medical power of attorney, in which I decide for myself what my instructions are to be done in the event I'm rendered unable to discuss my condition with doctors. It takes the decision out of the hands of my family, and I believe it's the responsible thing to do. Difficult, yes, but my wife has also documented her wishes, which I will respect in the event she is unable. My uncle suffered a stroke and was kept alive. Yes, it's been several years, but if you asked him before the stroke, he would have said to let him go, but he was unable to at the time. Medical professionals are just doing their jobs, which is everything they can to keep you alive. If that's what you want, you can declare it in the medical POA as well. I urge you all to get it done. Like I say, it takes the decision out of the hands of your family.

Sorry to hear the news Dan and Andy.  At least the guy was doing what he loved at the time.  I used to love bikes, but the Duc went down the road when Jelly turned 4.  The Vanson hasn't left the closet since.   Once everyone is out of the house I'll get it out, but I'm not sure I'll want to ride a bike in the cell phone era...cars were deadly enough before.  Sorry again...real bummer.

I too am saddened by the news and I feel for everyone directly involved.
Events such as this make us realize how fragile and precious life is. Hopefully the one positive that can come from something so tragic is that it will help us better appreciate the things in life we take for granted.

As Andy stated above, Scott was taken off life support at 1300 hours on Tuesday. And like Scott, he's not going down without a fight. The family is planning the service for next Tuesday, but I think he's trying to out last them. Scott was the kind of guy who would say it like it was,,,,or at least how he perceived it. Sometimes he'd make you cringe, and others he'd make you laugh.

He will be missed.......when he decides to go......on his time!

Very sad to hear of the loss of your friend. Life is short, shorter for some than others. Prayers will continue to support his family and those who were closest to him. God bless.
