Overnight spots near Half Moon Bay

Was curious of there are any spots near Half Moon Bay where I can sleep in my truck and not be bothered. Duck hunting is usually slow in November and am thinking about trying out crabbing but it's a long drive from Fresno for just a day trip. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

I drive up in the early mornings from SC to fish at HMB and I see cars along PCH 1 which I presume were there overnight.  So that would be a good bet.  South of Half moon bay where it gets a little more rural

Halfmoon bay proper from what I have heard is not the most friendly to people sleeping in their car.  You need to get closer to santa cruz where we encourage it. Jokes aside though,  I would try south a little, and there are spots that are tucked away where I think you could get a decent nights rest.

In the parking lot. Princeton Harbor. Just pay the harbor master. Launch off the beach by the kayak spot.

also be aware that roadside camping around Pigeon Point is not allowed.

Butano state park is a good option even if a ways south of HMB, it is next to Gazos Creek.

Thanks for the info. Doesn't get any closer then that. Not sure how well the crabbing is there but it has to be better than the central coast. Thanks again.

I'm pretty sure you can only overnight in the parking lot at Princeton if you have a trailer attached.  It's designed for people with boats but kayak trailers are allowed too.  It's around $40 or more per night and it's just a parking lot.  You might want to call and check with the Harbormaster before making the long drive.

If you ever want to come crabbing towards Marin/Sonoma counties, then you're welcome to our spare bed or couch.  But if you're incline to sleep in your truck, then you can park on my driveway.

Princeton Harbor is a lot of fun with our RV trailer and kayaks, but in early crab season its hard to get a spot.

Weve camped there a hundred times without trailers never had an issue.

Think the rule is you need to sleep in your vehicle but don't need to have a trailer, would be nice to know what it costs.
