Damn, for the first time in a while, I may have said the nicest thing on this thread.  Normally, I give no slack.   :smt044 :smt044

Figured you'd +1 this Mr MSRP.  Y'all should get together and sell each other shit at retail.

And what's with you fools that defend people that are clearly over pricing things?  If your friend was about to get ripped off, would you just stand by and watch?  For you new folks, let me break it down for you.  If you haven't noticed, this is a tight community that looks out for each other. Just like Fishcomb said,  This isn't Craigslist.  You want to find a sucka to rip off, go post it there and deal with the CL meth heads.

 :smt044 :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

Don't know what I was thinking trying to be nice.  I'm an asshole, might as well embrace it.    :smt044
If you ain't first, you're last.

If you're not interested then just let the guy sell his kayak in peace......way too much noise brothers  :smt003
Sell it on Craiglist. We are a family here. No one wants a family member to get ripped off....
I hear you but two wrong doesn't makes it right IMO. I think enough was already said but now it's getting a really personal and out of character beating someone down.
There are better ways to express it than attacking your "family."

Key word was ASKING....

You don't seem to get what is going on here.  Luckily, I'm here to help.

As several people have called out, you are asking a very high price for what you are offering.  In fact, you are offering it for $200 more than you were offering it last month.  That gets people's attention, and it's not the good kind of attention.

You went a little off the rails when you told people to not post if they didn't have anything "nice" to say.  The clear import of that is don't say anything that isn't nice about YOU or trying to question your posting.  What you don't seem to realize is that those folks are posting something nice.  They are letting others know that your offer is not a good deal.  That is a pretty darn nice thing to do.  They are looking out for an entire community.

A predictable amount of popcorn came out, and Spiffy made an eloquent, well thought out post for you and for your benefit.  He didn't have to do that.  Your response was another deflection.  "Key word was ASKING".  Well, that isn't a defense to anything.  It is a deflection.

You came into a tight knit community of like minded folks.  You immediately offered an kayak for sale in your very first post - which is against the rules.  A month later, you offered the same kayak for $200 more, and at a total price that is at or above what all of the items offered could be had for new.  Now you're mad that members of that community are making it hard for you to conduct your business here by calling out a very high price.

There are places for listing your kayak at the price you listed it for here, without fear of people calling you out for it.  This is not one of those places.

and if you have $4,400 of cost in this, one of the early posts asked nicely that you itemize everything that is included in the deal.  I'm new to this group but everyone wants to know exactly what they are buying and not going off a photo and partial description...

and now I see how the price gets into the $4k range.  The Thule rack retails for $800 and then adding the kayak mounts, etc... Hopefully you find a buyer that is looking for everything you are wanting to sell :smt001

without going all Cool Hand Luke,

all of this could have been mitigated by clarifying the cost breakdown on how you arrived at $4,400.  I know you say that your itemized update isn't showing up.  I can see the products that you list but not the cost.  So it was left up to the community to try to figure it out.  IMO not the best way if you are the seller.  When you saw the community putting up the price of what they saw this all could have ended with you saying plus the Thule rack that cost $$$$ plus anything else that was left out.

This is a great community.  Just don't expect not to be questioned.  Especially if you are new (like me)

Yes I caught fish! AND LIKE I SAID... I don't take everything out with me when I go... I take what I need for what I'm fishing for. I'm selling this because I have a back and neck injury that I received while serving in the military and I am no longer able to use it like it should be. If you dont have anything good or nice to say then Keep your mouth shut and mind your own business!

I have a major back injury, a busted hip socket, a TBI from being in the military and yet I have an old 2006 Hobie Outback that I still use. Don't let those injuries stop you from doing something you like to do. That feelfree is more comfortable than mine ever will be, and yet as broken as I am I can get out on my old Outback and fish all day.
