ARW - tomorrow- Sunday 8/5

Will be on the water around 8ish.

The tides are looking really good for halibut tomorrow, with a foot difference between changeover. Plus the wind will be down. You can’t beat days like this -

Company welcome - will be on the water with my 6yr old.

How'd you fare Geoff? I launched out of OP this morning and fished for a few hours without a single bite. No other kayakers out there but saw a few PBs. Hope you had better luck!

Not Geoff, but I ended up going out for a mighty skunk.

Wind was pretty heavy when I got there (8/ 8:30ish am), flag was horizontal, chop was pretty bad. OTW for an hour and everything calmed to a bathtub for about another hour, then picked right back up.

Off the water about 11. Very few kayakers, though a few were leaving when I first arrived up. I have that effect on parties too. Lot of SUPs, which I thought was weird.

Regardless, no strikes, no nuttin'.

I went out Sat. morning at ARW at sun rise.  Water was glassy smooth but wind started picking up by 7.  Caught a few shakers and a Bat Ray.  I'm new to this and have mostly caught trout in my adult life.  That ray fought like crazy, towing me around the bay.  It was impressive.  I managed to drop my expensive knife overboard during the fight and a halibut grazed me with its teeth while releasing it.  All in all, a fun morning.  Time for a cheaper knife.
