Nice fish!  Is this the same Union Resevoir near Bear Valley/Hwy. 4 (from your fist sentence it doesn't sound like it).  Looking for info on Utica/Union Reseviors as I will be in Bear Valley 6/8 - 6/10.  Sorry for the hijack... :smt004

thanks ya'll. Still grinning for sure, and still like to look at pics of him. Still like to eat him too. Schoolie, this is a different Union reservoir, I think it might even be called Union Valley Reservoir, not too sure. Utica is super nice, as is nearby Spicer over there off of 4. Never hit that Union though. Plenty of nice rainbows to be caught out there.....
anyway, thanks again. Good times.

Yep, where you were is Union Valley Resevoir...looked it up in Tom Steinstra's California Fishing book.  Love that book!  I'm looking forward to exploring Utica/Union/Spicer.  Any advice on fishing these lakes?  I don't have a downrigger and like to keep it simple.  But I also like to catch fish so any advise is welcome!
