I've heard Tomales bay bite has been real good on live bait... catch some jacks and shiner perch and drag them around. Know a few guys that have been catching their limits the last 4 times out. From 26" up to 18 pounds. They said there has been a few caught off of Lawsons Landing pier also. good luck and be safe out there.

I don't think the halibut are at that area anymore. I don't know the how and why of it, but they move around the bay. One thing I know for sure is that if the party boats and the reat of the fleet aren't fishing there.....you probably wont get many halibut.

very true. you can catch them there all year long but not in big numbers and not always legal sized. seams like they come in schools following the spawning bait fish so they the jack smelt, chovys and harring are gone then the schools of halis are gone and only a few singles will be around. most of the action has been on the incoming tides.
