Almost made to Shelter Cove, stopped in Ukiah and ran into trouble. As I was in a turning lane to make a left turn another car came  from nowhere and ran into him. Took out part of my front end off. All he could saw was sorry. Not bad enough to prevent me from driving back home, 6 hours. Did not want to take any chances. Another disappointing trip. Like they say there’s always another time. Was really looking forward to this trip.

I had to cancel Open Shelter and my room at the Tides but I expect daily reports.  So what's happening, dammit.

Beautiful weather right now.

Live report from OS2:

Classic Cove fishability - all day long.
Hospitality and camaraderie for days.
A few salmon being caught.
A few halibut being caught.
Plenty of the usual suspects, with cabs especially on the chew.

Top catch so far, from my perspective:  Surfing Dude Howard Kirk's 15 to 17 pound Chinook yesterday.

Rumor has it the Inn Keeper caught a dandy of a hali yesterday too.
