Very nice.
Your rod looks too good to use in the Pacific ocean.

Appreciate that (and porkchopexpress, rockfish's remarks as well).  This rod is gonna be a stunner and still be every bit the killing machine it was destined to be; a precision tool with a shit ton of style.  My hope is that she winds up battle worn, beaten and broken when I finally retire her.

Threadwork is done on this one, moving on to my 80mag this week.

Thanks Eric, I'm gonna put a shimano tranx 400 on this one but I can probably use another e series down the line.  Shoot me some pics and a price.

The peacock rod is in the rack getting a couple coats of epoxy.  Goal was to have it done before next week so I can take it to SoCal for a cod lobster combo but not gonna happen.

Next up is my us mag80.  Got my big bait Rhino Chaser and Elephant Guns built, this rods gonna throw smaller 2-4 oz baits.....it’ll be my Big Gun.....anything other than Greg Noll jailhouse stripes would be an injustice.  Should be a quick build, simple and bold.

Handle work done. Came out better than I was expecting so I’ll be scrapping the set of alconite guides I bought for it and splurging on some titanium  torzite guides.  Gonna torture myself with another 25” butt wrap.

OMF’ing G

Looks like I finished the split grip wrap on this stick last summer.  Put it in the rack while I fished, then add Covid and mix in a little boat build and I finally finished up the butt wrap lol.

I also knocked out a build for my friends 8y.o. son, the kid loves fishing and can hang with the big dogs on a 8 hour grind without complaining.  Next year he’s gonna be hitting the halibut and bass hard with this rig.

Seeker Tac 79 - deckhand grip (xtra long so he can rail it if he needs to), dragon scale wrap and some subtle fade work over Fuji k-series guides.   This is gonna be an excellent stick for all of our fisheries.  Lots of tip but still has a good backbone.
