I managed to get a spot at new brighton saturday night. #99. If anyone is interested in crashing let me know so we can figure out the logistics. I have to work saturday until 1, so I won't be getting there until 3:30. The only bad part is that check out is at 12:00, so I would recommend breaking camp in the morning before the tourny so we can fish until that precious last minute.

How did you manage to land a reservation?  I called up for any weekend in the summer and their booked.

Kevin - Brian lucked out - there was a cancellation on one of the sites.....either that or the rangers got really scared and intimidated when they found out that Brian is from Lodi and maybe linked to the Al Queda network

Erik - bring your striper surf rod - I'd be interested in surf fishing for stripers at night  

I'll bring it... I can bring another 9-footer as well... probably good for 1-3 oz lures... you're free to use it if you have a surf spinning reel with 15 # line on it.

I only have one surf spinning reel.

Thanks for the offer Erik....but I'll bring my weapon of mass destruction as well    (unfortunately my gear has not caught any surf stripers yet - but it has had some good mojo at the Bay and Lake Mendo)

Yeah... that'll be fun... now we need to figure out which beach to hit...
