Welcome!

I'm right by you in Sacramento. Let's link up sometime and get some taco meat! (Striped bass)
if I'm not fishing I'm probably thinking about fishing

Thanks Snazzyshun,
finally caught my first bass in my new Hobie at Folsom Lake yesterday but have been eyeing the Delta for some future trips. I assume that's where you target the Stripers?

I read once warmer weather hits many areas on Delta can get as crazy with boaters as Folsom Lake.

Where do you launch from?

Welcome! Nice kayak, I was kicking the tires on those. I'd be interested to hear how they compare to the outbacks.

I hope I have more time for trips starting in 3 weeks. Maybe we can meet up sometime and you can compare yourself if you do know the Outback. Send me PM.

To me the biggest factor was weight. Side loading on top of SUV is a challenge for both without added tools. But the less weight of compass makes loading up even in very tired and slippery stage much easier.

Welcome Lothar! Don't worry. It's money well spent because you only have to pay it once and you will get it all back and much more in no time. Be safe out there when alone  :smt006

Got my Compass from Kayak City here near Sacramento/Roseville.
I actually purchased the model they displayed at the Sportman Expo at Cal State fairgrounds so got it 200$ off. Felt pretty good about that as it has never touched water.

I dont think there is much discounting going on for new Hobie's other than getting some OK deal with plenty upgrades which can get costly with Hobie's.

Yeah I hear you. We get hit with the taxes if bought in CA otherwise it's the shipping if buying from out of state. So, not much of a difference I guess. Look forward to hear more of your compass adventures.
