Launched from the Howe ramp at 6:30pm. Mudshark and friend hit the water soon after that. We headed up river towards Watt. I lagged behind and tossed spooks and p-poppers. Getting much better with the new baitcaster. Toughest part was all the cottonwood fluff. Had a heck of a time picking it off the line and out of the reel. As I was turning around near Watt, Rockfish and friend arrived. Jim pointed out the hot spot. I had just finished working that area for nothing. I then headed back towards the ramp. Had a beaver give a good warning splash close to me. Off the water at 8:20pm. Not a bite for me tonight, hope the others had good results.

Great meeting you guys!
My buddy Matt and I had a good time sitting in the eddy/logs shooting the bull and casting for NADA.  Al, that same beaver got me on Tuesday night, almost scared Sam out of the boat too...
I like the idea of Thursday night trips, and the wife wasn't immediately against it either.

Next time I'll get the minnows, as Matt's "jumbo" minnows were more like eggs with tails...I only used one and that was as a trailer on a 3/4 oz stumpjumper...

Great time, I hope to make it out again next Thursday.

Jim

I launched from Sunrise bridge a little after 6:00 pm and got out at Ancil Hoffman at 9:00pm. The fish finder was on the whole time with nothing showing up and no luck. I even checked the deeper holes at Elmanto and below San Juan Rapids where the striper usually hang out. THere was a dift boat fishing but it didn't look at though they were having much luck either. Maybe in a week or so they will start showing up in that area. Last year we pulled out some nice stripers below the rapids.
