where can I get some of those jumbo minnows?  I talked to a guy last week who said he uses bluegill he catches in the frog water...I was hoping to use plugs, is that hte wrong tactic?

If you have the time to make bait the squaws or blue gill are my go to bait these days. I like them because they are generally larger than even the largest jumbo minnow (although some jumbos as backup is good) and they tend to weed out the smaller fish. I have yet to catch any sublegal fish on the blue gill and still do catch schoolies on the minnows.

Not sure if they are legal and I never come across them so I don't bother but I hear the shad are the hot bait right now on the American.

I'll have my buddy pick up a doz jumbo minnows on his way over, but I think I'll bring a flyrod for some bluegill as bait...
