As I recall, craw tails are generally good to eat even from bad water. They have very little fat in their tails, and lots of toxins end up in fatty tissue. Then again... crawdads are relatively long lived, which is a determinant for heavy metal accumulation.

I wonder if the crows are safe to eat at CL.
