I want to go to Fiji in a couple months. For a “anniversary” with the wife. I was thinking of bringing my kayak with me (pa14). What do you guys think is the best way to get it there? How much do you think it will cost?

i mean like near or over $1k, each way. and it would take about 1- 1 1/2 months to get there and then another 1 - 1 1/2 to get home.

Wow
Got any ideas how I can get my Trident 4.7 to the Big Island of Hawaii?
It would be a one way trip.
Never gonna give it up... its Bushy’s old ride.
Thanks

Are there shipping ways out of oakland or wherever.  People move to Hawaii from here I suspect.  Hope you don't pay too much.  UPS?  Snail mail?  Merry Christmas... :smt006

Find a rental shop

They have regular kayaks but no hobie with the mirage drive... lol I can’t live with out it.

It may be cheaper just to rent a boat for a week.

I believe that everyone that has a kayak, even a Hobie, should know how to paddle. Better start learning for your rental.

If no hobie dealer
Try finding a local kayak fishing club and borrow or rent

It’s in the global fair weather circumnavigation circuit. You might find someone willing to rent you one who is in the area while sailing around the world. Try sailing anarchy or one of the other sailing forums.

Hey johnnyab! I also am interested in getting a kayak to the big island. I wish I would have strapped it to the roof of my folks car when they had that shipped there.

Aloha Marine lines might be the best bet..     I'd guess a min of 400 dollars from their dock.
