Has anyone ever launched from Martins Beach south of HMB? I remember rockfishing from shore there a couple of years back and I nailed a ling and some nice rockfish from the shore casting straight out.
As its a private beach, I'm not sure if launching a kayak is permitted.  If it is, then that would be a great place to catch all sorts of fish.

As long as you pay the $5 or whatever it is now I don't think they give a shit about launching a yak

I think there's a walk involved but possibly north end is good launchpad under the right conditions

My grandad fished stripers there for decades

Nothing is what it used to be so check it out discreetly and give us a report

I scouted that place a couple of times - now, it's $10.00 per vehicle to get in there :smt011 The launch can be easy but there are a lot of reefs just before you get clear the cove. You need to becareful and pick a line and paddle fast to clear boilers (similar to HMB) There is also a seal colony living in that area - keep an eye on 'em. I spoke to a local regarding the seals....he said he's seen them "get chased out of the water" many times  :smt118 They usually head to island to the North for safety.

Interesting. I recall seeing the  rocks straight out with a lot of kelp spread out on the water so I thought maybe it would be a good place to fish. I do remember however that the north crescent shaped beach could only be accessed from the south side at low tide; I saw some people stranded there during my last  visit.
Could be one of  the  areas the landlord patrols frequently since there seems to be evidence of lots of food there at times. A  friend of mine witnessed some beachgoers pounce on a salmon there that was left stranded by a quickly receding wave at one of the  bowl shaped sections of the beach. Lots of surf smelt there and you often see people throwing nets from the shore. I've also fished on some party boats near there for some great rockfish.
Didn't see anyone talk about this place so I thought  I'd gather some input.

I am sure Mooch and I would be down for an exploration. Let's try earlier in the summer before the landlord comes home  :smt003

Shark!!!!

If you have the time I'd give it a go It gets you into territory most boats dont spend gas money on In fact it might be a good launch point for where the hmb guys are fishing maybe 4-5 miles out

I looked at photos of the place and it looked like a launch gem

Last time I was there was way back with my grandparents

I have surfed this beach several times. There is a rock bottom on the northside. and it is $10. I 've seen it flat calm and I've caught good waves too.  Hit or miss spot. you can drive down to the beach to check it out before commiting to pay.
