Papa Bill and I are thinking of doing a day trip there on Saturday....since the coast is not friendly enough for a rockfish trip  and the Forebay will be blowing as well :smt011 Hope to score some stripers and SMB  :smt002

I'm thinking of driving up early friday, I'm free 'til Sunday.  I'll see how it goes, and if I need to hunt rockfish instead.

I don't think I'll be camping, but will fish friday after 5pm, and saturday morning till the bite dies, or the PBs become too annoying.
You got a spot to camp already?
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

I think it is just a little over an hour after you cross the GG bridge.

Well I haven't got a site, I'm just going up and see what I get. I'll be trying for the north shore. I'll be in a bubble top camper van with my wife. As far as driving time. figure around two hours north of the GG. without traffic. I plan on scoping it out during Friday afternoon, then fishing till dark, then crack of dawn Sat. morning till I'm chased off by the man made swells. The way the projections are for the ocean, I figure I'll wait till it calms down before hitting the coast. No hurry, season's just starting.... If anyone wants my cell # PM me and it'll shoot it to you. I'm also bringing the VHS 69 of course.

Bill, it's more like an hour and forty five minutes... it's about an hour from Santa Rosa.

Also, I'll probably be there on Saturday.

p.s.  oops, sorry Jonesz... I just reread your post... didn't see the first time that you'd said what the drive time was... I'm not stepping on your toes!

Got a call from Papa Bill and Allen / Pole Pole last night - looks like we camping out at mendo for the weekend. Get there Saturday morning and leave Sunday night. Don't have a campsite yet - we will wing it and if it does not work out, Mike /mickfish kindly offered his Cabin in Healdsberg.
