Men are not always good at going to the doctor. For the past several months I've been wondering if I was just getting old, losing muscle and gaining fat or having heart issues. I've never had a heart attack, but I have cholesterol and plaque issues. I was getting winded easier and had a heavy leg feeling with light exertion. I decided I should see a doctor and I failed the cardio stress test. That got me in for an angiogram and possible stent. I failed the angiogram also and now I'm choosing between two stents or a bypass. It looks like I wasn't far away from a fatal heart attack. Since I got to the Dr before I had a heart attack I have a good chance of returning to normal. As long as I survive the procedure I should be fishing again for sturgeon season. So remember, listen to your body! Don't put off going to the Dr and wait until its too late.  :smt006

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan

If you haven't yet made the choice, I found stents to be much quicker recovery than bypass surgery, especially tor use of arms & shoulders. Both should be supplemented by exercise post-procedure.
