I read somewhere on these forums that one of you had put braided line on your Laketroller and painted lines every 10 feet on it.  I'm curious what type of paint you used so that it didn't wash or peel off?

Thats not a bad idea.
I use a Laketroller and 60# braid.  I find that one turn of the handle is about one foot.

Take some, but save some for later.

You are correct.  One turn = 1 foot depth.  Not to mention you should be able to see your downrigger weight on your fish finder.  I use 60# braid also but don't have the painted footage marks.

Just remember that it is 1' per turn with the spool slightly over half full.
Either add a spacer (fill with rope/cord etc.), or use a LOT of braid.
With 300' of 65lb braid, you are more like 7" per turn of the handle.
Hope this helps
