Hello,
My name is Russ Forbes and I am new to kayak fishing, or should I say new to starting kayak fishing. My sons and I have fished quite a bit over the years and now we live in Aptos and are very excited to get out on the water.
That said, I am looking for a kayak and some fisherman to go out and learn the waters and find the spots to go! I look forward to joining the community and catching some fish
Russ

Hi Russ, welcome! I'm pretty new too and these guys here are great. You're in good hands. I'm in Santa Cruz, too so let's run into eachther and talk about kayaks and fishing. I just bought the Hobie Pro Angler and I love it. Didn't want to mess around, went straight to the dark side. - Mash

Welcome to the madness!

You should talk to Bushy, as he is the expert on fishing in and around Santa Cruz. I'm pretty sure that he can read fishes minds.

That's good advice for sure.

And regarding a kayak to purchase - you should consider trying out as many models as you can before you pull the trigger.

Good luck and welcome.  :smt001

Welcome on board. There is lots to learn here on the boards, and it's a great place to do a hook up. There are plenty of people looking to HKUP for a day trip. Good luck and post a report.
