Bilingual (Spanish) FedGov Job Opening in Watsonville

I am very excited to announce that there is a new job opening for a Bilingual Claims Specialist here in my office!

This is a great opportunity, and one that doesn't come along very often in an office as small as ours.

The position will be posted from today to 6/20.

The position is posted as GS 5/7, with career ladder promotion to GS 11.

Where people start on the ladder depends on what level of education/experience they have.

Some additional information for folks not super familiar with the way the GS career ladder works...

There is one year between grades in the career ladder up to the full promotion potential (GS 11 for this position).

So if someone starts as a GS 5 in 09/17, they would be promoted to GS 7 in 09/18, GS 9 in 09/19, and reach GS 11 in 09/20.

And if someone qualified to start as a GS 7 for this position in 09/17, they would be GS 9 in 09/18, and GS 11 in 09/19...

Once they are a GS 11 they would start moving up in Steps, and there is a waiting period of 1 year at Steps 1-3, 2 years at Steps 4-6, and 3 years at Steps 7-9...
