Congrats Jelly. *VERY* nice Striper. Double since you did it in a lake--people usually have to go to the Delta to find them that size and even then they are rare.

Keep it up and before you know it, you'll have one bigger than Joel's Salmon  :smt077

You've already beat my personal best Striper.  :smt010

Kayak Angler of the Year competitors--watch out--there's a new gun in town  :smt066.

Thanks guys, today is a real memory moment and I think I might have a shot at big striper of the year!

The first minute I noticed some fish and birds going crazy so I jammed over to the fish but by the time I got to the fish in the east branch they had stopped boiling. I got a bait from my dad (scwafish) and by the time I had my line out Darin had a fish on. Not long later I got slammed and was bendo. I thought there was something wrong with my drag because I was near the end of my spool and had to put my thumb down on the spool and tighten my drag. I was in a back forth fight with the fish. I would gain a little then lose line.

I knew it was a good fish because I'd never fought a striper like that. For a moment I thought it could be a cat since we were in the east branch. I got the fish to the boat and I was going crazy :smt103 :smt107 :kick the head on the thing was huge I lipped it and hauled the beast up on to my yak. Thats about the same time I started yelling like, well mooch.

Everybody was freaking out including me  :smt005 :smt007 :metal  :compress: :smt035 :toothy9: The only loss was when I lipped the monster my thumb got shredded.  I'll live knowing it was from a huge fish!!!!!!

Awesome, that's 2 huge pigs (striper & LMB) in one day!

Very nice fish, congratulations!

I didn't even know Mendo carried such big stripers - what's the biggest reported there?
