I'd drink it.

there's not much in the beer world I'd turn down especially if it is cold, or free.

Except Natural Ice, god I'm not a masochist.

Tote: Life's too short to drink shitty beer!  I agree with Bills' comment.  In any case I'll have a Sculpin or two for you at the "Man Van".  I might even have a couple of those "Gateway" pale ales to get you moving in the right direction.

Sculpin is a rich man's beer , ohh that's right you live in Danville!  :smt005 At $14 a six pack I can buy a case of PBR!   I know it is a great beer and I have a clone recipe for Scuplin I am going to brew this weekend! At only $40 for 5 gal it is a little better price.  I do agree that life is too short to drink shitty beer but PBR ain't shitty ( cheap not shitty) and that is why I stay away from every fruit flavored beer out there!!!! !

OK, maybe "shitty" was a little strong of a word to describe it.  Back in the early 70s (yep, I'm an OG) I worked in a liquor store after school and Pabst was one of the cheapest beers in the store. along with Lucky Lager, Bergermeister and a few others that were considered "popular priced" beers.  All beer was fair trade priced and sold for the same price everywhere, by law.  The premium beers back then were: Coors, Budweiser, Schlitz and Miller.  Michelob and Lowenbrau were the super premiums.  At some point in time, the beer world consolidated and most of the lower priced brands like PBR went away to be later reborn in hipster markets like Portland. I have no idea if it's the same formula but it has been a marketing lesson in revitalizing an old mediocre brand into a power house in many large markets.  Being a drinker of hoppy ales; I'm not much of a fan of any Pilsners or lagers.  Fortunately, I don't drink a lot of beer so I choose to drink the more expensive craft beers.  Incidentally, Costco has the 12 pack of Sculpin for around $20.00.

Martin , do you still brew? MoreBeer has the Sculpin Clone there in Extract and All Grain. I'll let you know how it tastes in a month or so.

PBR really ain't half bad compared to Coors light or Bud IMO. I like it when I'm fishing or hiking.

And man, I miss brewing!

Jim,  I haven't brewed in a long time.  Back when I was brewing a lot, there really weren't a lot of craft brews around and those that were, weren't that good, in my opinion.  That being said; a few years ago, the craft brew industry exploded and filled the market with lots of very good and a few great beers.  I can't say I don't have time to brew, and I do miss it sometimes but I'm afraid I have taken the lazy route to good beer.  I would really like to taste your Sculpin clone when it's done.  I have used a number of More Beer's clone kits and been very pleased with the results.  Stop by the Man Van for a brew or maybe even a Martini at GS.
