Chinclan and I practice self rescue yesterday. It was successful in that we both jumped out of our kayaks multiple times and we were able to re-board without issue. 

I want to give a special thanks to Chinclan. I met Chinclan at Tomales bay last year and we got to talking about GS; he needed a sponsor, and I was happy to be that sponsor. I didn't know it at the time, but the dude is a mensch. Not only has he volunteered to help me with my small role in the GS11 tournament, but he made the drive to Folsom for our gear shakedown/self rescue practice. I'm very happy that Chinclan will be joining us this year at GS.
