Got up and was on the road at 6am. mentally prepared to drive 2+hrs solo.
(pic1) One hour later I am in Napa, antisipating on getting there and getting my "hunt on".
I get to the lake, but ckeck-ins not til 2pm.(some one sleeping in my spot)

I parked in the day use area and lauched to glassey conditions(pic2)
I stuck around the creek that i thought was Kelsey's til Terry (spidey) called me to meet him at Kelsey's,oops! wrong creek,no wonder I didn't get a fish.

Paddled to the real creek and met- up with Terry and Fred as we hit the veg-line.(pic3)

It wasn't long before I caught a few of them "Fightin Boys" which seemed like they were not interested in your offering if they saw you first,so you had to stay away and cast into your targeted area. This one guy bit it hard and then came unbottoned after a short fight,I re-applied the jo-jo sauce and put it right back onto his doorstep (pic4) and he hit it again! (pic5 & 6)

Fred and Spidey emerged out of the backcreek with reports of fish but no mama's.They were going to hit a few more spots and I was to follow, but I got this problem, when I see areas that look "slimey" i got to stop and get some......and some more......and before I knew it,it was already late-noon and the fellas were nowhere in sight.....so I just kept tossing and looking down at ALL THESE BASS!!!(pic7)...and fellow hunter! (pic8)

By now I have seen small males with BIG BALLS and BIG FEMALES with NO intrests in what I got to show them.As I sit over the tullie beds I see a thicker, darker than usual fish guarding it's post.I put the pole right over the top of him and drop the "pisser-jig" down.I move it,drag it,pop it and bounce it through its' bed til it finally had enough.(pic9,10,11) a 17"Crappie...my first from C-lake and a first bedded fish hooked too!

As I snap out of my "this is pure heaven" daze,Terry and Juan are in sight and are planning to stay on the water til dark,"SWEET" I said,"but I got to put my car into my camp area before night falls".
We continued to search down that Fem-Beast in a area that PB'ers only deam of getting onto.I was just making my way into the curtain of trees when I hear Spidey," Oh,this is a big fish on!"...and it was the biggest of the day.(pic12) Once again seeing BIG FEMALES inside this wooded point being courted. I nor Juan got a
Fem-Beast on this day,but tomorrow is another hunt.  (pic13) a pissed male that got mad at the "senko that wouldn't leave"
My total was 9-LMB and 3-Crappie. I tossed the 7"senko for one fish(they wanted the 5" instead)  The bedded fish were piss-off by a small-leadhead jig w/wht.worm piece(shortend to 2")

stay tuned for fridays adventure to Richmound Park(south end of lake)

After a good nites sleep? in my CRV,I awake at 4:30am to the visions of " Terry's Haunts" and his words repeating in my head " I'm gonna put you guys on some fish".
After some "personal time" and may I add that the state park bathrooms are clean enough to sleep in! I was boiiling water for coffee in the dark, hearing fish jumping in the creek,I grabbed me pole, drank coffee and tossed for a breakfast bite...for not.
Juan and I were to meet at Terry's /coffee shop (20min south of camp) @ 7:30 the launch is  was just down the street.

We were in the water before 8:30 (pic1) and headed to the HAUNTS. Spidey takes off like a bullet towards his spot and well....ya' see I got this lil' problem of seeing fishy areas that I JUST CAN'T PADDLE BY(pic2).
Juan and myself are tossing and casual paddlin towards Terry wondering what's the rush?.....If we only knew......He paddles back to us and says we are going around that point,as he points. Now I make a B-line straight to the area.
We come around the point and see over hanging trees, rocky drops, tullies and one PB!
Terry makes first cast of his morning into prime-realestate to fool this Big-Fem!(pic3)
If your keeping score at home?... that's TWO FAT FEMs for the H2O Spider and none for the guests so far.

We seem to be getting into the agro-males (pic4) and they kept us up on our rapid-senko-changing skills. For me this is fun, even if I don't get that big bitch.

There are some VERY BASSY spots here(pics 5,6)
Juan (mako1) his calm moment before he knew he was gonna slay em'.(pic7)

My Yak and Clearlakes' LIVE Volcano in the back.(pic8)
This turtle must have seen a senko before, cuz he just looked at it and shook his head in disbelieve(pic9)

Juan had his Senko hooked "inline" and we had ours "wacky". in retrospect, both Terry and I were WACKEY for not switching them over, cuz mako1 was "ON IT!" (pic9)
We made it down to an old Boathouse with a dock,I paddled straight to it and tossed around before they got to it.No fish here I wrongly discovered as I kept seeing greener pasture ahead.
Juan tosses on the first side I hit and HE GOT HIT(see other clearlake fish report for this pic) I then paddle back to the dock and begin tossin, juan makes his way over and says to me," I don't know what your doing wrong, but the big ones seem to like these.....DOCKS!..........as he claims again "FISH ON!" (pic10)

Terry with a nice one from that same area(pic11)

So now I'm the only one left without a Fem and was willing to accept it when I announced I was starting over where we first came around the point.I got a few males more, but every cast had hopes of getting ENGULFED,and so it did.........I knew it was my biggest by the way it did not come to the surface willingly, instead it honkered-down and battled me to the sweet-end!... 19" and 4-1/4lbs. of unforgiving LUV! (pic1)  and now I have me a FEM BEAST and don't feel "so left out".

So we head back to the launch with plans of lunch and refreshments. As we arrive,Terry is wondering if we should beach it (pic2) or dock it? I paddle towards the beach while Juan tosses his senko to the deep shadows of the dock and guess what?.........(pic3) another BEASTLY BITCH!

Terry's girlfriend(short term memory problem w/names) met us there and we GRUBBED-OUT!! Thanks for the lunch Spidey!
This place is like an OASIS!! First of all!...there are fish to be caught in that area....SECOND! there is food and beer available....THIRD! it's free launch......Forth!.......it's a SPORTS BAR w/T.V.!!.......Fifth........there are TWO-PINBALL Machines......and SIXTH, BUT NOT LEAST..........did I mention there were fish to be had?

We headed out for some more of Spidey's secret spots after I kicked his A$$ in pinball.(he kicked mine in fishing)

(pic4) another cookie-cut boy....see the emerging tullies everywhere.
(pics5 & 6) trees growing from the water and the YAKS do get it there..........and there is fish in there(pic7)

As I was sitting, reflecting on the 12 BASS I caught in one day(my best so far) Juan paddles up and says," I've got 23 so far!"
My jaw dropped,as I was in shock. I laughed and told Juan I was just swelling my head up with my twelve and you come up with 23!!
Soon Juan said he was going to throw his frogs around a different area and asked how long I was goon stay for? I replied."I ain't goin' nowhere til I get 20! and before I knew it........I had a total of twenty-three(only two dinks)

for a total of 32-LMB and 3-Crappie for 20hrs. of on-the-water time.
The wind was getting stronger and the sky darker when i pulled the plug on my last nite of sleeping in the car and headed home after TWO-full days(one night) of adventures in Clearlake.

Thanks for the hospitallity Spidey/Terry.....nice to have met your girl.
Fred..... sorry I didn't follow close, you see I got this lil' problem.......
Juan.....You are the MAN!! and I'll be seeing you at mendo soon.

I now have knowledge of different areas there......I'll be BACK!!  those CRAPPIE are the $#IT!!
