You can go backwards in time. Never forwards. And it is at the speed of light. Not negotiable.  That ... you cannot go faster than light is that you can not  go slower.  We are stuck. The only possible excuse for 'big foot" is time travel. Backwards.

Everything was impossible until someone figured out a way to do it.
