Last weekend in august or 2nd weekend in September are my votes.

Jef,
I made the date even with the typhoon last year,
Rented the little house on the head at the
Pier.
From what I read the next weekend wasn't
Much better with headless sea lions floating around.
These dates in August or September
Work with September being the best.
Albion is mid August, would like to spread out
The driving a little.
Even having a chance at good water viz for some diving.

I'm not sure I've been clear on this, so I would like to reiterate that under no circumstance should you hold TRW during deer season.

Thanks.

A 100 + guys for a fishing tournament.
How many hunters?
Many including myself.
Archery
Muzzle loader
Rifle in some cases early-late

How many categories?
Antelope, deer, elk, sheep hunts with
Different genders. Hell here in Nevada
I could draw tags that would allow me to
Hunt from Late July through January.

I'm in for Calif. Big horn, Dessert Big horn
Antelope, mule deer and elk.

If I draw a tag and the season is 2-3 weeks long
And I there's a fishing tournament in that time frame
I'll go kill my animal and drive to the ocean and
Bring home a ice chest full of fish.

Mid September still would work best for myself.

4est,

This tournament has a big local draw.  We are in the middle of the B zone and local deer hunting season is a big deal here.  We really don't get that many people from far away for this tournament and it's main sponser is one of the bigger outdoors stores and gun retailers in the county.  I don't think elk and sheep season in montana is a real big competitor for this tournament.  That's kinda silly.

For me it's really hard because I can get exactly one weekend off during deer season.  I look forward to it every year.  Last year I did the tournament and really, really wish I had skipped it and gone hunting instead.  I won't make that mistake again.

I wasn't pipping up about myself as much as I was
For all are other bros that my have a different
Zone than yours: A,D, M, X they all have
Different dates and I'm sure there deer hunting is
As important to them as it is for you.

The Pro Sport Center still got my
Entry fee even though I couldn't make
It,and I still got my swag. So if I choose
Not to go fishing because of the weather
Is bad the Sponcer still got my $$ even if
I didn't show.

It took 19 years to draw my Bull elk.
And I have many years invested in all the other hunts
That I mentioned earlier. So you might
Have to choose between a conflict,
I have 19 years in for my California Big
Horn. If I draw and there's the tourney
That I have already paid for.
I'm going hunting and the Pro Sports Center
Wins again.
And everyone has the right
To choose what they think is silly.

I no all about the hunting in Humbolt
And Trinity co. Hell I killed 2 bucks every year
For 18 years. Mostly in B-4 but many on Southfork,
In the Yolla Bollys and the Trinity alps.

I'm sorry that out of 37 days you only
Get 1 weekend to run out to Wilcox Ridge,or Black Lassic.
I can understand how you felt over last year.
I would of had regrets over not hunting that weekend the
Ocean was crappy, I no I was at Trinidad
The weekend the tourney was suppose to be.
Rented a house, not getting your money
Back on that without 3 months notice.
And we rented it in June at $350 a nite for two nights.
Shared it with a fellow yaker from Ukiah.

I really hope you get to go hunting and fishing
Your yaking here with a passionate sportsman
That knows  exactly   How you feel.

The Pacific outfitters has been profiting off
Me for a long time, hell bought my US Divers
Wet suit from them in 1978, as well as My first snow skis, boots and
Bindings. And just bought myself a new crab
Pot from Jef a couple of weeks ago when
I went to the Crab cakes and Wine in Ft Bragg.

There's a lot of great guys in the NCKA and I think that
We are All passionate about our fishing and hunting.
And I've really enjoyed meeting them at these events.
Have enjoyed reading your comments and posts.
Look forward to meeting you say at

GS11!

Pyramid is open again?  Nice!  I had heard that after the road washed out the tribe closed the lake to fishing.  I haven't been there since I was a kid.  I need to get back out that way.

See you at GS11.

My vote would be any weekend before school starts, that way the whole family can enjoy one more last trip before school takes over. Family time is what we all strive for !!!

It open Saturday,
With limited access.
The road 446 won't reopen until April.
It washed out in 11 spots were no pavement
Attached, with some 100's of feet away.
My son works for Granite Constuction
And there rebuilding the road.
He's shown me some pretty awesome washouts.

The last day of fishing for me was New Years
And I'm glad to be on the water again.
