Stationed at Travis AFB I'm an avid bassfisherman who grew up in MN BASS Jr Tourneys.  I really want to get into a kayak for my first boat.  Anybody near the Cal Delta get back to me if you have a good used fishing kayak.  I want a smaller one to start that I can throw on my Camry.  12ft or so?

Good fishin Joey

Welcome to NCKA, I am in Fairfield and so are a few others. I don't get out to often, but check the hookup section. Check out some of the kayak shops for used kayaks. In our area we have headwaters in Lodi and CCK and Kayak City in Sacramento. I believe a rental place just opened up in Suisun too.

Welcome Joey - you will hear this a lot but its very important you get out there and test out a bunch of different kayaks. Bring some fishing gear with you and get a feel for the kayak and fishing from it before pulling the trigger.

Welcome  :smt006 from Fairfield here as well. A lot of nearby fishing spots around here (Berryessa, Henessy, San Pablo Reservoir, and the delta). If budget is not really an issue, look into pedal driven kayaks. You will appreciate them especially when bass fishing and going against the wind. Demo as much as you can. Everyone has their own preferences (stability, speed, lightweight, etc) Can't really get them all in one package. You'd have to compromise somewhere. Good luck with your search and tight lines!
