Finally took out the Predator PDL for her first trip without a fish finder(still waiting for Adventure Sport to call me) along the DWC today.   It was fun and I bumped into another cool guy on a Yak.

Bad thing was that cool guy had to recuse me after I flipped my yak while trying to untangle one of my lines from the rudder.  I'm sure I didn't lose any gear.  A shoe fell off but it got tangled to a fishing line; the same fishing line connected to my brand new rig that was at the bottle of the river.  The cheap lanyard snapped, I got what I paid for it.

Final notes, that was my first time flipping in a kayak.  It was a great reminder that anything can happen even when you're really careful.  I am so glad I always wear my PFD whenever I go out.  I could've easily drowned had I not wore my PFD with the amount of gear I was entangled with.

So, get out there and fish still keep in mind safety first.  Kayaking is always first before fishing.

This has got to be one of the most fucked up threads in a while  :smt009 :smt005

Devestv read this thread from the beginning. You are not suppose to be posting here. Start your own thread about your trip if you want anyone to take you serious.

PS It might be best to learn to self rescue because maybe there won't be a cool guy to save you next time you go over board.

I read this thread from start to now.  Reason why I posted here is because I want the local guys including myself to read what is going on around us.  Take me serious or not that's up to them I'll still go fishing.

I've read through a lot of threads on this site and many are random as heck which make this site very disorganized and confusing(sorry moderators, just my opinion).  So, when I saw this thread targeting Sacramento Kayakfishermen, I read everything and I continue to come back to see what my fellow anglers are doing around me.

I'm sure I could've rescued myself.  Why not use a lending hand if they're around right???

On that note, the delta is dirty and ruff due to the flood waters coming down range.  I talked to other anglers today who said the DWC is the calmest and worth the drive to fish.

Believe it or not there is a process.

If you notice it's mostly newbs responding to newbs about hooking up here.

Everyone should practice self rescue including yourself. You said it was your first time overboard but it won't be your last.

Be safe out there.

When you wrote you had to be rescued, it left me with the impression you were not able to rescue your self.

In the general talk area the threads are random. The rest are organized by subject matter, not location. The search function helps us find info rather than everyone asking the same question 10,000 times. It is much easier to search through if you don't have every possible subject about Sacramento in one single topic. Give it some time and be sure to take some time to look at the main forum page so you have a better understanding of how it is arranged.

Everyone has their own view on how forums should be organized, probably influenced most by whatever forums they have been on before.  They are all different.  And starting to participate in a new forum can be confusing as hell.

But come on man.  Here you are complaining about this site being random as heck, at the same time posting a random as heck post on a runaway topic.

If someone wants an area for Sacramento specific discussion, that place is not in a single thread.  That's what makes it confusing.  It's just random.  People have pointed out better ways to do this within how this site has chosen to organize things.  But somehow, there are a few people that seem to insist on not following those suggestions.

Get with the program!

Bunch of internet fisherman.

The new preferred term is "screenwatcher".

"Shuck You oyster boy" probably spelled that wrong but it's still funny as hell

Try this instead tastes way better.  :smt044

Working on that RV has made you really grumpy.  Did you get the valve job done yet?  This is probably a good thread to ask if someone is available to do a valve job on the northern Oregon coast.

I'd be happy to drive up to Oreagawn and give you a hand but the wind blew the fence down yesterday and the chickens got out.  I found them on the other side of the road but have no idea why they crossed.  Any ideas?

Can a mod please add a poll to this "Why did the chicken cross the road" thread with the following options?

A. Because it wished to avoid meeting the Raven it saw approaching.

B. The chicken had just had its head chopped off.

C. It was part of a chicken conga line which happened to be crossing the road.

D. It saw the rooster on the other side and wanted to get laid.

I want to make sure I have a place to go for all of my "Why did the chicken cross the road" needs

Thank you   :smt117

Go to a local lake, paddle out to 10' of water, jump in, and get back in your boat.  The do it with the boat upsidedown.  Right the boat, get back in it.  Have someone take video of you doing it.  Post that video in this thread.
