Newbie here.  Picking up my first kayak in the next day or so plan on fishing the carquinez straight on the regular.  I fish out of Crockett almost everyday.  When I'm not fishing I'm driving the dock at C&H all day.  Hope to see some of you out there in the spring.

Welcome Sattes, ever been on the Moku Pahu there at C&H? Just read she is making her last sugar voyage from Hawaii.

Welcome aboard.  Been a long time since I fished the area you are frequenting.

Be safe out there and enjoy the new kayak.

The moku pahu is C&H's ship.  Unfortunately I never made it on board for one of their tastey  steaks. I heard that it's trips were limited.  Now that we are owned by Domino's there hasn't been much fan fare for things C&H.

I have done much research for many months and it came down to the hobie pro angler 12 and the pelican premium catch 120.  Drum roll please...  I went with the catch 120.  I chose this kayak for a multitude of reasons.

Congratulations on the kayak, let us know how it works out and post some fish pictures.

I never sailed on the Moku Pahu but know lots of people who did. I was senior port engineer for a few years when Matson managed her and oversaw many repairs, just curious if we ever ran into each other. Read a few days ago that after 145 years the Hawaiian Sugar Company is shutting down operations this week and Moku was being sold.

Matson were the good old days.  I came in a few years before they sold c&h.  It has to be hard to compete in today's cane market when ASR owns most of the cane production in the world.  I work in the warehouse local 6.
