Picked up two last night at big 5 for $15. Each. The specs and features seem like it might be a good or even great kayak knife. I really like their snips so I'm hoping I will like these too. Does anyone have any experience with one?
Mine is my Christmas present so I won't know for a couple more weeks.

It's okay but I would not count on it in an emergency. Maybe a back up or utility knife but not primary rescue knife. Overall feel is of low quality (get what you pay for) and it's pretty tough to open one handed. Would probably not happen with freezing hands, panicked or gloves on. The blade design is nice which is why it would make a good utility/bait knife. I will try it for a while maybe it will loosen up and be a good knife maybe not we shall see.
Can't tell from the pics but that little knob to open the blade is a bit sharp and combined with being hard to open it really digs into ya.

I'd recommend a fixed blade knife. I've been really happy with my NRS C-Pilot knife. It's sturdy, it's easy to grab, use, and replace one handed, and it has a bottle opener...

I have that knife. I tried to use it a couple of weeks ago and it seized up. The whole thing was rusted. I wash it after every trip too. I guess you get what you pay for.
