ARW 3/24

Great group out there! Despite the fact that no one ended up with a fish, having lunch with da bozzz was cool.

a couple of thanks to the following:

- Papa Bill for driving
- Nate for letting me mooch some live bait
 - Frank for rescueing my lucky green hat (I left it in the restaurant and Frank kindly picked it up for me) 

After lunch, a few of us headed over to the Pro Shop and did some shoping for Adam / FishHunter....Bill and I gave him an ear full of what to buy - now he's set for the rockfish season 

Joel pull your pants up there are children looking at this site!

Just be glad he wasn't wearing speedos (or so I hear) under those pants!

Wished at least one of us could of gotten a fish!!....we did take over the launch area however, and i did go home with a receipt from the proshop for $230.oo (no excusses now)

Yes, Rookie is Me, Ty. My second time in the water. Wind was so strong that it blew my boat and me to the rocks shore (opposite of the rockwall). My boat on the rock and really did not know that to do.

Kind of running out of gas, no matter how hard I paddled, the boat seemed not moving forward but instead just got closer to the shore.

So lucky that Mooch came over and rescued me and gives me a tow. I want to say thank you for his courage and his team work effort to help me out. Again Mooch, I appreciate your help

We all learn from the failure. I gained some experience from this and I will look forward to see all of you again.

Hey Ty,I did not see you flip out of your yak.As i passed you, i noticed that you were close to the shore and thought you were getting out to go pee or something.I then paddled to Mooch to ask if you were a NEWBIE and pointed to you,he then turned around to assist you.

Ty, if you get in trouble again out in the water,you got to ask for HELP. I wanted to ask you if you were O.K. when I passed you but you looked like you knew what you were doing.  YELL OUT!! HELP ME!!

Don't be afraid to ask for help!

Ty - happy to help! Glad you did not get hurt on the rocks. But like Adam / Fish Hunter said "if you need help = don't be afraid to ask"

I'm just glad you went out with the group instead of going solo

For sure, next time, I will yell out loud. I am sure all kayakanglers are teamwork and ready to help. Next time, I will bring VHF and also an Orange flag with SOS written just incase.

As I got closer to shore, the waves get bigger, I did flipped out of my Yak but luck the water only around 3.5” foot but the bottom was rocked and hard to stand balance. Wader helped lots.

Go to some of the local lakes and put some time in there.You can troll for fish and GET PADDLING EXPERIENCE. Then hopefully,there won't be a NEXT TIME
