Stripers! Anyone in? I might fish one day this weekend. Weather should be nice if the wind stays mellow...

Hey Garen, looks like I'll be fishing the Alameda Rockwall tomorrow - may have to stay local tomorrow. Thinking of joining Sthornely at Lexington instead.

Anyhow, good luck at the Forebay - looking forward to your report!

Any word of the Santa Cruz Halibut?

Hey Joel...
No word on SC halibut. I got excited and went out yesterday to the local inshore spot. Paddled out of the harbor and caught nothing but a seagull who was humanely released. I drifted a frozen squid on a stinger for awhile, and had a viscous take down. I couldn't lift the fish, I think it was a ray or a shark; I broke my reel tightening the drag, broke the line and lost my goods. Exciting, but....no flatties. SOON! Good luck at the rockwall. If I don't go to the forebay, or if the wind picks up, I'll likely see you at Lexington Sunday. A friend who I work with lives over there and is always in there fishing, he says he keeps seeing this school of nice bass swimming around in there and can't ever catch them...I guess visibility is good. Good luck!
