Welder need your help !!

I jack up my back trying to dead lift kayak on top of the roof rack.
I try to retrofit a piece of metal to help slide it on top.
Need 4 welding points.

I can pay cash, can take you on a salt water trip show you around, fish bounty or ..... you name it.
Hopefully to take the stress off my back.

What type of rack? Both Yakima and Thule make a load assist bar that is adorable. On the Yakima you can just use a piece of pipe.

I also use the yakima boat loader shown above. Simple concept, save half of the lifting weight. Works well.

Hey Mike, what size pipe? Can I get away with something lighter than steel water pipe? (e.g conduit?) Any cool ideas for keeping it from sliding out when I make a right turn?

I have Thule bar. Hullevator would be nice, but expensive and might get stolen.  The other option is too flimsy IMO.
what I plan to do is solid and can take off instantly. Probably cost 1/4 the price.

I put a heavy cable lock on mine. I also use the same cable lock through my scuppers and onto the yak while transporting for security and additional support.

Not too flimsy at all.  I use the assist bar for loading my PA12 and it holds up just fine, been doing it for years.  I'm pretty sure it can handle your AI hull.

I bought a galvanized pipe, put a cap on it, and slid it into my Yakima bars.  It works just like assist bars from Yakima and Thule but way cheaper.  It's strong enough to support my AI and is the only way for me to load it by myself.  I need to start working out like Nudling so I can lift the whole thing, fully rigged.

Is there a bent to the bar when placing PA12 on it ?
