Or you could... I dunno.... maybe at least TRY to prevent that "bad guy" from getting his hands on a gun in the first place? Like maybe we shouldn't allow him to waltz into a gun show and waltz out with an assault rifle? Seems awfully logical to me.

Hate to burst your bubble or peepee  on your salmon fillets... but statistically the bad guy stole the gun because he's a BAD GUY look back at America in the early 19th century people didn't want to be in prison, it wasn't a country club with cable tv, a nice gym, an medical surgery to change your gender "don't even go there".... the guy in prison had to bust his ass to repay society' for his crimes... now a days it's all f@€£ed up  like it's somehow our fault the criminal is doing the crime. And here's one I personally witnessed dude got busted with a hot spoon and syringe full of heroine just before sticking it in his arm, charged with possession of said drug.... in court dropped to attempted possession WTF dude already had 3 drug charges as well as being under-charged with breaking my grandson arm in half at 6 months old "criminal mistreatment" probation only.

You already know my thoughts on gun control.  Make attempted mass murder an extremely dangerous proposition by arming everybody who wants to be armed and minimize the damage.  I realize that this makes us all foot soldiers in a war against genocide.  I would not have it any other way.
Sorry we have different views on gun control because an upstanding citizen with no criminal background should be encouraged to learn how to and conceal carry a gun "an armed society is a polite society " "gun control means hitting what you aim at". "The only way to stop a BAD guy with a gun is a GOOD guy with a gun"NOT sure who originally quoted them but they are true in my opinion.

Where did you read that I would disagree with you?  I mean, I could nitpick stuff like "the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun" which of course isn't true, it just happens to be the best way. That's about the extent of our disagreement tho.
NOT wanting to argue but I hope your not saying the joke of a justice system works and can actually stop a bad guy with a gun? If there where armed citizens at any of the recent mass shootings the outcome would have been different, a little bit of a speculative statement I know, but have you ever heard of a mass shooting at a shooting range? The mass shootings were planned and carried out at places where guns are prohibited for the most part.... I have read several news articles on would be armed robbers taken out because there was an armed citizen present. Analogy from another post on here... dudes trail cam was stolen from a tree.... you think the guys going to steal it from the store? No they have security..... as do I, if someone pulls a gun to do harm in my presence I'll defend myself or anyone else they intend to harm. Just my $0.02 and we're all entitled to one as we are entitled to keep and bare arms.

I would rather have a gun but if all I had was a rock or a brick or something I'd try that, and it might work.  If we had 50 guys with rocks at the ready it would definitely work.

I think you might be reading too much into what I'm saying, or maybe making an assumption about me that because I support liberal immigration that I am also anti gun?  Not sure.
Nope I never assume because of someone political views that they believe everything and supports 100% of that political agenda unless they really are an idiot and you sir don't come across as an idiot. Just stating my opinions and getting yours...can't get them from you OTW as I'm a few miles away... but when TLW wants to hit mouseland with the grandson I'm either bringing my yak or begging for a loaner to get OTW with you guys.

There is something extremely unsettling about that cartoon brick layer. His face is all out of proportion and his eyes migrated like a halibut.

You have your views, I have mine. I'm not going to waste my time debating someone who starts their "argument" with the premise that I'm an idiot...

1) As stated, and as you have since stated you know and understand, the term has nothing to do with your level of intelligence. Deflect much?

2) In any case, I'd have thought you'd have been happy to have been included with the likes of: H. G. Wells, Paul Robeson, George Bernard Shaw and others. No?

3) Since your feelings seem to have been hurt to the point that you cannot debate, then please accept my apologies.  I hope your condition improves.

Trivia found while researching Stalin's list of useful idiots yesterday:

The attribution to Lenin is apparently apocryphal.  We do know that Josef Stalin actually had a list of  people he considered "useful fools" (the most literal translation from the original Russian).

My GF just pointed out to me that I need more Comedy and less politics, SO I removed my last post and am going to watch "Life in Pieces" on CBS at 930 pm.
The IT Crowd is quite funny and so is Blacks Books.  Short series from the BBC.  Did you ever watch Better off Ted?

I watched Delirious last night for the first time in a long time. Funny stuff. And it's no wonder my mom didn't want me watching that in 83'.
Eddie Murphy was 22 yo at the time. Maybe I'll watch Raw tonight.

Ironically, it is Trump who is now considered to a 'useful idiot' in the country that invented this idiom.

It's big when I can hear it from my house during the daytime over the buzz of the highway noise and my tinnitus.

I can hear it loud and clear right now.

Stay safe everyone.
