OK guys, hopefully the cancellation was in time.  I have crabbed off a boat and rotated 7 pots every hr.  for 3 soaks at a time and got pretty worked.  We'll see if the side lifting wrecks my ergonomic desires.  I'll keep the 40 bucks for now and see if I'm too wimpy for these danielson box traps, Thanks for the heads up, no, I have never crabbed from my kayak :smt006

My Trap Eez is DOPE!!!  I like being able to pull my traps up with ease in not so ideal conditions, and still keep my COG.  To each their own!

Haven't tried mine yet but figured it wouldn't close as good with only one instead of three fastening points.

Thanks for the update Mel.

If it really bothers you, then put 3 cotton fastening points!

"(2) untreated cotton twine size No. 21-thread or less, except that traps used to take Dungeness or rock crabs are limited to a single strand of untreated cotton twine size No. 120 or less;"

Doesn't this limit you to only one strand?

If so I was thinking it would have to be continuous.

Crab traps must contain at least one destruct device made from a single strand of untreated cotton twine size No. 120 or less that creates an unobstructed opening anywhere in the top or upper half of the trap that is at least 5 inches in diameter when this material corrodes or fails.

Does this mean you can have multiple destruct devices? My interpretation of "single strand of untreated cotton twine" is describing the type of cotton twine used. Kind of like how they make 4 or 8 strand braid. Thoughts?

I think I have one sitting in my garage.  Unused.  If any of you who just cancelled your orders will be at HMB for the opener, you're welcome to try it out.  If you decide you like it, keep it.
