Mooch Memorial Crab & Chill - Saturday Nov 5th, 2016

Well looks like we're gonna stay in the Sac area this weekend. Got some unavoidable adulting to do.... Stay safe (ON LAND TOO)  and yell a bit louder for me.... Missin y'all and Mooch too See ya's next play day, Carrie and Ron (Girls and Maverick too)

Have fun All!  I don't know Mooch personally, but I know he is one of the main reason why NCKA is so strong today.  Be safe and have lots of fun!

I'll be there on Sat with pork belly skewers. Hoping to use someone's grill to finish them off but I'll try to bring my own smokey joe. Beers in the cooler and I'm going deep (for the ai guys that wanna go too!).

Chillin at HMB for the crab Opener, chillaxin with some of the crew. After eating a lot of food we launched after 12:30 am and dropped our traps. The conditions were awesome and I can't wait to check my traps in the AM.

From the surf cam looks like some pretty exciting break at Mavs right now, when you can see it through the fog

Don't know where you set your traps but will be interesting to see if the surge moves things around

You guys should paddle/pedal out to mavericks, it's looking pretty exciting right now

Anybody been out to Mavs? I'm thinking about going tomorrow, would mean making a pretty wide arc to get out there


Heads up, some quotes from Coastside today, anybody dropping traps there might consider moving away from the boat traffic

If you have decent electronics and kind of know where you're not supposed to go, today was a pretty nice day (minus the kayak s-show and the gnarly water by the jaws). If somebody didn't know HMB today, they could've gotten in some real trouble.

The boats and kayaks hanging out at the jaws and even dropping pots were irritating, a real safety issue. Would be nice if the Harbor Patrol would clear the morons out

I went out of HMB at 7 and it was ugly inside but as soon as you went maybe half mile outside the red can it was surprisingly nice. I was absolutely prepared to turn around if it wasn't safe. The kayakers and their buoys at the mouth of the harbor are quite "interesting" to say the least

Conditions at HMB (per the VHF radio - I cancelled) are dicey in the jaws, with fog, and a plethora of kayaks and their pots - not to mention the waves!
