The campground (it's right in the middle of everything and close to the ramp) sets aside a nice group area for us.  $26 per night per person - it's worth it because the sites are small if you rent them individually.

Sorry guys, they called me back and they made a mistake and I don't have a site assigned...

Do the kids need to pay for the shirts?

Kids print for free - shirt included (15 and under, must be accompanied by an adult).   

And we have kids' sizes this year!  Small, medium and large youth.  We have plenty of adult sizes available too - like 50 mostly larges and XL's.

Anyone other than kids can purchase a Gimme Shelter Gyotaku shirt for $20.  You get instruction on the printing process, do a couple test prints on newsprint and then go for it on a shirt.  If you don't want to throw the bones down for a GS11 Gyo shirt you can print your own shirt - donations toward ink and such are appreciated.

This year we'll have cash prizes for the kids as usual, and there are some special prizes too...

Just a reminder
The Lighthouse preservation society will be having a fundraiser again this year at the park on may 19. This year they will be serving BBQ Pulled Pork sandwiches with sides and also some baked goods available.
This is a great way to help support the local community and  also get a hot meal before (or after) the safety meeting.

I'm super fired up...

Was prepping some of my spear/ab gear last night and am excited to do my very best to get some big snails and yummy fishies!!!

 

It's Friday so here's a flashback to three years ago to the best conditions I've ever experienced diving up at the Cove...and my very first 10 inch abalone!!



Shell is all cleaned up and pretty and on my living room wall, and makes a great backdrop for random family fish pics.

Matthew, Rob and David S. got out yesterday for a few hours - Matthew scored first yak salmon at the Cove this year!

Things are picking up, and the forecast for tourney day looks good!!!
